Canada's largest-ever Drone Show, presented by Destination Vancouver, produced by Pixel Sky Animations, and supported by Grizzly Entertainment. 1,000 drones took flight for an audience along Vancouver's Coal Harbour waterfront between the Vancouver Convention Centre West and the Westin Bayshore hotel.
WHEN AND WHERE WAS THE GREY CUP FESTIVAL DRONE SHOW?
This FREE Drone Show consisting of 1,000 drones took place along the waterfront between the Vancouver Convention Centre West located at 1055 Canada Place Way and the Westin Bayshore hotel waterfront at 1601 Bayshore Drive in Vancouver, on November 15th , 2024. WHERE WAS THE BEST PLACE TO SEE THE GREY CUP FESTIVAL DRONE SHOW, presented by DESTINATION VANCOUVER?
The best viewing area was Harbour Green Park on the Coal Harbour waterfront and Seawall between the Vancouver Convention Centre West and the Westin Bayshore Hotel.

The drones launched from Hallelujah Point in Stanley Park and flew up to 500 feet in the air facing Coal Harbour.

HOW BIG WAS THE AUDIENCE FOR THE GREY CUP FESTIVAL DRONE SHOW?
The estimated attendance for the Grey Cup Festival Drone Show was of up to 18,000 spectators.
WHY WAS THERE A GIANT BEAVER WITH POM POMS IN THE SHOW?
The Grey Cup Festival mascot is a happy character called Justin Beaver. A cheering Justin Beaver with pom poms is a shout-out to all of the CFL cheerleaders that deserve recognition for their involvement in the CFL and the Grey Cup Festival.
WHY WAS THERE A GIANT MOUNTIE IN THE SHOW?
The Royal Mounted Police have a history of delivering the Grey Cup Trophy to the Grey Cup game, and was used in the drone show as part of the storyline of what brought everyone together for the Grey Cup festival.
WHERE IS LOST AND FOUND?
There will be Destination Vancouver volunteers, first aid and security staff on site. If you find an item, please turn it in right away to any of these staff. If you have lost an item, please approach any of them to see if the item has been turned in. After the event, please contact Destination Vancouver during regular business hours at 604-683-2000 to enquire about lost and found items.

WHAT IS SO SIGNIFICANT ABOUT A 1,000 DRONE SHOW?
The scarcity of light show drones in Canada makes the assembly of a 1,000 unit fleet a very special event. A collaboration with our European partners at Grizzly Entertainment was necessary to bolster the Pixel fleet for this acheivement.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DID IT TAKE TO PRODUCE THE GREY CUP FESTIVAL DRONE SHOW?
Between our Destination Vancouver volunteers, security guards, first aid attendants, VPD officers, traffic authority, and marine units, a total of 126 individuals were involved in the Grey Cup Festival Drone Show viewing event. Only 18 drone show crew were required for the production of the drone show flight.
